Suzuki Kunizo was a native of Chiba Prefecture, NOT Hiroshima. He was first married to a Hawaiian with whom he had several children, who adopted the name Kuni (from Kunizo), and whose descendants are now found throughout Hawaii. Suzuki Kunizo's second wife was NOT Dutch as indicated in this article, but a Portuguese from the Azores.Suzuki's children with his Portuguese wife all took on the name Quni (from Kuni), later to be changed to Quini), whose descendants were all born in Japan. Thanks to the late Mr. Okubo, Suzuki's descendants, both Kunis and Quinis rediscovered each other and now enjoy close family ties.
